
Slate steel and glass sculpture sited at Pfizer's headquarters in Sandwich.

An omphalos object, this sculpture consists of several layers of differring scales of map, all relating to the site where the sculpture is located. A post pierces these layers at the point on each map that represents the actual spot that it is located. The finest scale map shows the formula for terramycin, a compound that was discovered by testing a piece of earth outside of a laboratory at Pfizer.

Part of a multi-threaded commission by Pfizer, including workshops with research staff and local artists, an event for Canterbury Festival and 7 commissioned sculptures at the Pfizer Gateway site in Sandwich, Kent. Funded by arts & business, Pfizer. Collaborating with Canterbury festival & International arts consultants. Jan 2002.
