The arrangement of carved boulders is intended to act as a meeting place, and a focus for the location. the ring of stones is surrounded by newly planted trees on one side.

Elements of many varied personal marks are recognisable, from tags to scripts from around the world, some elements have been recognised by their original mark-makers.

Types of mark were loosely grouped and matched with boulders that shared an affinity of form and texture. All of the boulders were formed within glaciers and deposited in Scotland during the thaw.

The worked stone awaiting installation. The dots in the design were present in the originating autographs, but have been used to locate the many bore holes that contain the thousands of autographs that have been inserted into the stones.

A photograph of the stubbs made from masses of tightly rolled slips of paper that bear all of the signatures that were gathered. The stubbs were rolled densely, sealed, and pushed into deep boreholes in the boulders that were then closed. Two larger plugs of signatures were ceremonialy inserted and sealed by the Mayor at the opening event.

A group of nine carved glacial granite boulders, each inscribed with elements taken from the massive collection of crawley residents that was made for the sculpture, to celebrate the anniversary and to mark the particular point in the towns history.
